Duduetsang Lamola/blk banaana is a South African visual artist based in Cape Town. Dudu works primarily in handmade and digital collage, video art and video installation, exploring the relationship between fragmentation and speculative reconstruction in order to challenge a hegemonic Western perception of reality that has been mediated through anthropological violence.

From August to November 2021, Dudu was the first resident at the recently established LAPA residency for artists and started to work with edition ~ verso. This collaboration opened up multiple ways of engaging with a range of printmaking techniques from softground etching, photopolymer gravure and chine collé. Dudu, albeit new to the medium, came with the adept experience of collage, a love of materiality and collaboration.
