Residency Application FAQ
Online Application Form

Do I need to be a printmaker to apply?
No. Artists from all disclipines are welcome to submit an application.

When should I apply? Applications are accepted throughout the year.

What is the duration of the residency?
Residencies are tailored to artists’ individual projects and can run for anywhere between 2-6 weeks. 

Is the residency funded?
Artists are required to source their own funding. 

What are the residency expectations?
A print or set of prints created during the residency will be retained by edition ~ verso to be included in our print archive as a record of the artist’s time at edition ~ verso. Residents are encouraged to engage with our community in an intimate conversation about their work. 

What do I need to submit in order to apply?
Prepare the following for submission via the online form:

1. A detailed Project Proposal. Please be as specific as possible (500 words maximum). We want to know what you want to accomplish during your residency and how the opportunity to come to edition ~ verso can benefit your project development and uniquely help grow your practice.
Consider the following;

- Why us? What does a residency at edition ~ verso uniquely offer for your work?
- Offer us as much clarity as to what you want to do and how we can help on a practical level

2. A Full Materials List

3. CV and Artist Statement

4. Seven-ten images of recent work related to your proposal, with an accompanying image checklist specifying Title, Date, Medium, Dimensions, and Edition. Images submitted for the residency do not have to be original fine art prints. We welcome artists whose practice is outside of the printmaking medium.

Two professional references who can speak about your work, provide name, contact information, and relationship/association to you.

Is there an application fee?
There is no application fee. 



With each application, we ask for a full materials list of a resident’s proposed project. This list need not be exhaustive however, it should assist both artist and the studio in project planning and the artist’s budget.
Materials include plates (metal and otherwise), paper, and inks. Most materials may be purchased through edition ~ verso if desired.

When the application is complete, the artist will receive an email indicating receipt.

Interview: An interview will be requested of all artists who are accepted into the final round of decision-making. This interview will be conducted via Zoom with representatives of the edition ~ verso team. Decisions will be made within one month following the application.
